The cotton-candy-colored non-stop pop musical The Marvelous Wonderettes celebrated its first anniversary in New York on Monday evening, where it continues to play at Off-Broadway's Westside Theatre, upstairs.
Featuring iconic 50s and 60s girl group tunes such as “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,” “It’s My Party” and “It’s In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song),” the New York production has now played 418 performances. The Wonderettes are set to sing their way across the United States, with new productions of the show planned for Chicago, Miami, Long Beach, and Cincinnati over the next year, with more cities to be announced soon.
In honor of this milestone performance, the cast, crew, creators and alumni of the hit musical celebrated in style at the restaurant 44 1/2. All photos are by H. E. Yhoman.
