The Lucille Lortel Awards aren’t the only ones celebrating their silver anniversary this year. Lincoln Center Theater is also celebrating 25 years of upholding Lincoln Center founder John D. Rockefeller III’s mandate that "the arts not for the privileged few, but for the many." While fulfilling this directive, LCT has has produced dozens of outstanding musicals, dramas, and special events at its Broadway space, The Vivian Beaumont Theatre, as well as its Off-Broadway venue, The Mitzi Newhouse Theater.

And in the fall of 2008, LCT initiated LCT3, a new venture dedicated to supporting the work of new playwrights, directors and designers through readings, workshops, an annual directors lab, and of course, productions. Currently performing at the Duke on 42nd Street, a new performance/rehearsal space for LCT3 is under construction on roof of the Beaumont, on the Lincoln Center campus. The Claire Tow Theater is scheduled to open in late 2011 or early 2012.

Under the direction of André Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Director, Lincoln Center Theater is the recipient of the 2010 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Body of Work. Here’s a look back at their Off-Broadway ouvre:
